Sono uno studente di scienze e tecnologie alimentari, volevo chiederle se per seguire e sostenere l'esame del FCE bisogna possedere la certificazione PET.

No, it is not necssary to have the PET before you take the FCE. You just have to speak, read, write and understand English very well!
